Norbert Wiener Panel Session
The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics is dedicated to Norbert Wiener, the “Father of Cybernetics, in honor of the 120th anniversary of his birth.
SMC2014 will feature the Norbert Wiener Panel Session with ten speakers who are past winners of the IEEE SMCS Norbert Wiener Award - the primary research award of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. The purpose of this award is to recognize significant contributions to research in systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and/or cybernetics. The award winners are the research leaders of the SMC Society. Their experience and their opinions will be of great value to all conference attendees.
Each panel member will present opinions on a broad topic for which SMC Society members can positively change the future, or discuss trends for a particular technology. Prepared remarks by the panel members will be followed by an open discussion between the panel members and the attendees. All conference attendees are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion.
The Norbert Wiener Panel Session will be held 1:00PM -3:30PM Monday, October 6. Lunch consisting of sandwiches and drinks will be available for purchase outside the Conference Center starting at 11:30AM. You may bring your lunch into the session.
